If you follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or happen to know our Vice President, Brian Ruibal, you know we are supporters of the local charity Stepping Stones Foundation. They are a non-profit organization that focuses on “at-risk” and homeless children in the community, getting them help and encouraging each child to take steps toward a better future. Over the past couple of weeks they were helping a particular family in need and it was a beautiful thing to see how volunteers and businesses sprung into action to make them a home. A group of 5 sweet children weren’t being cared for properly and were living out of a storage unit. When the kids were removed from that environment they went under the care of an aunt who didn’t have the space large enough for them all. There was a distant relative who had a home they could pass on, but it hadn’t been looked after for quite some time and wasn’t in a livable condition. It was at that time they put out the bat signal asking or anyone who could donate time, labor, materials, furniture, you name it. They needed enough donations to renovate the home, and equally important, the volunteers to do the renovations. We saw the community step up in a HUGE way. We at Landscape Systems did what we know best and that’s landscaping. We had our crews clearing out the brush, leaves, dead plant life and brought in some new bushes and flowers to spruce up the outside. We had so many wonderful volunteers helping us along the way and were so grateful to everyone who supported our efforts. When we finished the outside we moved inside with the rest of the volunteers!
So many other local businesses stepped in to offer their services inside the home, from heating and cooling, and electrical work to new floors, sheet rock, dry wall, fence repair, painting, custom furniture, sinks, toilets, fixtures, lights, decor, meals for the family and so much more! The list goes on, including support from Keller Lion’s Club, The Keller Chamber, BNSF, Young Men Service League, Young Life Keller, Colleyville NTA Taekwondo, Garabedian Properties, The Floor Store Keller, Berkey’s Southlake, Horizon Forest, All About Paint and More, BNSF, Lowe’s Southlake and Keller, Sherwin Williams Roanoke and Keller, Proscapes, Cooper Overhead Door Service, Pioneer Animal Hospital, American Transmission, Ace Store and Repair, Ironwood Fencing, Office Equity Solutions, Sweet Memories Cakes and Catering, Marco’s Pizza, DeVivo Brothers, and Jersey Mike’s Keller!
It was truly an amazing transformation!!! The unveiling to the family was so wonderful, you can see in their sweet faces how truly special this moment was.
